Отчетно-изборното събрание на Българо-американския център за кулрурно наследство избира нов Борд на директорите и гласува последни поправки в устава на организацията
На отчетно-изборното събрание на Bulgarian-American Heritage Center(BAHC), състояло се в неделния ден на 29 ноември 2009, се чу какво бе направено през годината, отправи се критика за ненаправеното и се сподели визия за идната работа и цели.
Kина Бъговска – президент на ВАНС за 2009 представи равносметка на годината и виждания за бъдещо развитие в доклада си. Макар и млада по летоброене, организацията, с мисия за опазване и пополяризиране тук, в Чикаго и в Щатите, на българските традиции, култура и дух, бе организатор на прояви и събития, които реализират визията и целите на организацията ни, изтъкна г-жа Бъговска. В списъка на организираните от Борда на директирите на БАНС прояви през 2009 са Коледно парти“Елеганс“ с класическа музука на живо; Посрещането и организирането на срещите с българската общественост тук на официални лица от Агенцията за българите в чужбина, както и на актрисата Виолета Гиндева и барда Хайгашот Агасян; Отбелязване на 19 февруари – годишнината от обесването на В.Левски с фотоизложба на архиви и курбан в памет на Апостола; Издигане на националното знаме на Р.България на Daley Center – официално честване на Трети март в съорганизаторство с Генералното консулство; Заедно на Осми март – женско парти на над 80 българки, уважено с присъствие от Боряна Пунчева, съпруга на тогава посланника на РБ в САЩ; Артфабет – изложба на българските букви от децата-художници в Чикаго, представена в АRC Galery и Cook County Building; Първи български пикник по случай Деня на детето с над 300 участници, осъществен съвместно с Българо-американската асоциация – спорт, игри и най-дългата рисунка от всички деца на пикника; Участие в Spotlight on Chicago и включването на ВАНС в каталога за 2009 на културните институции и фондации в Чикаго; Организирането на Първи фестивал на документалното кино в Чикаго, с филми и дискусии, показани в българските църкви и училища тук.
Имаме още много организационна работа и работа по осъщесвяване на главната ни цел – построяването на Български дом в Чикаго, бе подчертано от президента на ВАНС. Непосредствена задача е привличане също на нови членове и съвместна работа с младежки и студентски формации.
В последвалите дебати, някои нагорещени, някои конструктивни, се очертаха реални проекти за работа по вътрешната организация и статукво, а също и по финансиране на смелите проекти на ВАНС.
Събранието гласува последните поправки в Устава на ВАНС, представени от вицепрезидента Петранка Стаматова.
Под изключително точното председателстване на Павлик Петров, събранието легитимно гласува избора на нов 9-членен Борд на директорите в състав: Кина Бъговска, Петранка Стаматова, Велина Иванова, Надя Едрева, Георги Узунов, Ирина Гочева, Галя Долджева, Константин Маринов, Бойко Чавдаров. Легитимно бе гласувана и Финансово-ревизионна комисия в състав: Галя Атанасова, Елена Гайдарска, John Keane.
За президент на ВАНС за втори мандат събранието избра Кина Бъговска.

A film about the Thracian rituals at the archeological reserve near the village of Svestari, Bulgaria. The cemetery is a monument on the list of UNESCO. The film received a special jury prize at the AGON film festival in Athens in 1996, and was part of the Science and Imagination Festival in Paris in 1997.

A short series that looks at the origination, existence and disappearance of the fortresses in the eastern Rodopy mountains, built by the Byzantine Empire and the Second Bulgarian Kingdom. Dozens of fortresses were built around the Arda river between 5th and 14th century AD. They were used to guard the roads leading to Constantinople, Adrianople (Odrin), and Philipople (Plovdiv). Consultants on the film include Nicolay Ovcharov, Ph.D.; Bonny Petrunova, Director of History at the National Archeological Institute, a division of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences; and Daniela Kodzhamanova from the Regional History Museum in the town of Kardzhaly.

On December 12th, 1941 the ship “Struma” with 770 Jews on board sailed from Constance to Palestine in an attempt to flee from the Nazi threat. The ship’s engine stopped working near Istanbul where the ship got stuck for 2 months and was eventually sunk by a Soviet torpedo. The only survivor, David Stolyar, reveals the tragedy buried in the historical pages for more than 65 years.

The film follows the traces left by the two brothers Cyril and Methodius in various chapels in Venice, Rome, and Loreto. The two brothers were canonized as saints by Pope Lion XII in 1880. A hundred years later, Pope John Paul II proclaimed them for co-patrons of Europe and called them “the Spiritual Bridge between the Eastern and Western tradition.” Nowadays, the admiration for the two brothers is stronger than ever. They are known for their significant contribution to the religious and cultural development of Europe.
